Service user and carer workshop discussion and findings

Workshop included first and second year students and 12 service users and carers. These discussion and findings gives the students an opportunity of working with the service user and carer in a workshop setting.

The University of Brighton felt that a “next step” in terms of participation of users of services and carers in their MSc Social Work course would be for representatives of the network to engage directly with students in identifying what “works” and thinking about other areas of development. This will involve first year students thinking ahead to Year 2 of the course and second years looking back over the whole course and ahead to their continuing development needs as qualified workers. The plan is, through various activities, to get students, service users and carers working on these ideas together.
