Andy Cheng

Andy Cheng is a former young carer and a current parent carer. He also has professional experience as a carers’ information and development worker for a London borough, in which he was responsible for developing a carers’ forum and lobbying group, outreach and information service. He project managed the SCIE study of carers’ participation in social work education (Taylor et al 2009 – SCIE report 28) and is now an associate research fellow at the University of Sussex. He also currently provides one-to-one support to carers as an adult carers’ support worker employed by a Princess Royal Trust for Carers (PRTC) Carers’ Centre.

SWEP has been looking at its Governance and recently set itself up as a Company and Charity. I am pleased to say I have been recently appointed as Chair of the Board of Trustees and look forward to these interesting times ahead for SWEP and myself in this new role.
